NOTE: This contains spoilers for 502, and as such, it is recommended you watch that episode before proceeding.

SOUTH PARK 3000

EPISODE 503: FEAR OF A HAT PLANET (the final episode)

--- What I had planned ---

(NOTE: Most of this was purely in my head, and it's been quite a few years, so I may be forgetting some parts of it, or getting a few small details wrong - not to mention that things usually change in the animation process anyway - so just take this as a basic guide rather than a bible as to exactly what the finale would've been)

The episode would begin with the kids, Stanster and most of the SPG community gathered inside the palace, where Stanster announces that, due to the assassination of the king, he would be taking over again, as per rules written by him when he became king. The kids finally ask what the hell Project F-3 even is, and Stanster's response is basically "Oh, we never told you? This seems like something we should've done a while ago," and plays a short film for them, which is a documentary on Spratt_.

It is revealed that, despite being a hardcore stoner, Spratt_ was a great inventer back in the 21st century, creating/doing a whole bunch of crazy things (such as merging the real world together with the world of South Park; which unfortunately destabilised physics in the process, hence Dave turning into a palm tree and getting sick, etc.). Project F-3 (Project Future-3000) was his elaborate plan to ensure SPG lived long into the future, by travelling forward to the year 3000 (where most of humanity had died out - which explains the somewhat sparse population, the dated technology, etc.) and starting a new society.

Unfortunately, it is at this point when Mr. Hat's onslaught begins, taking a whole bunch of side characters out (pretty much anyone who'd done something bad over the course of the series would be injured/killed accordingly and get their comeuppance). Stanster then decides to initatite Project F-U (Project Future-Undo), which would entail everyone travelling back to the 21st century in the event that the 31st century became uninhabitable.

Shade and Cartman also rock up at the palace, hoping to get revenge on Junkman, only to learn of his death. With the world now ending, they join the other SPGamers and the kids on a quest to trek to the Project F-3 headquarters in the desert and evacuate the future.

Meanwhile, Beamer runs into Mr. Abee in the dungeon (when asked what he's doing there, he responds simply "I'm black"), and the two share a heart-to-heart. Another prisoner asks Beamer who he's talking to, and he turns around to discover no one's there. As it turns out, Mr. Abee was a figment of Beamer's imagination (hinted by the fact that he wears an inverted version of Beamer's outfit, along with the fact that he's never interacted with another character, and his name is an anagram of Beamer) - a manifestation of Beamer's guilt for cheating on Laura. It's at this point when Beamer realises he needs to do whatever he can to get Laura back, and runs away from the dungeon accordingly, leaving Anigav to wake up alone.

Meanwhile, Laura has taken up a job at another news station (the only one who agreed to give her maternity leave 8 months into her employment) and is happy, but upon learning of the impending robot invasion - and the SPGamers' evacuation - decides that she wants her husband back. She gets in her car and drives to the dungeon (avoiding a bunch of killer robots/explosions on the way - this was going to be a VERY action-packed finale and I'm basically just summarising the plot points here). She gets there, but finds the dungeon empty. Laura assumes he's now also heading to the Project F-3 headquarters and proceeds to go there accordingly.

Anyway, the SPGers arrive at the Project F-3 headquarters, where they are greeted by the now-robotic Stanimation. A battle ensues, and they wind up victorious. They then enter the PF-3 headquarters and proceed to boot up the time machine, but discover the dead bodies of RFI and Spratt_ inside the closet. They then all begin to suspect that Stanster is the SPG serial killer, realising that he's taken over the job of everyone who's been killed so far. They all collectively murder Stanster, only to discover the SPG serial killer is inside the building - and is RY4.

We would've then had a THIRD flashback to the phone call (between Stanster and RFI) we saw play out over episodes 501 and 502, revealing RY4 was off-screen to the right of RFI, holding a gun to his head in order to lure another SPGer there. RY4 had always been Spratt_'s rival, and was mad about being banned from Project F-3, and was now exacting his revenge on the community accordingly. He'd come to kill Stanster, but instead siezes the opportunity to take out more SPGamers. This proves to be an exercise in futility, however, as Mr. Hat would show up and take out RY4 accordingly (accidentally, of course).

Mr. Hat was only planning to take out their leader, but upon realising they HAVE no leader and are leaving the planet anyway, decides to leave them alone so he can continue conquering the universe - sparing the planet Earth because virtually no one else is left following his onslaught (and Project F-U). Cartman asks Mr. Hat if he can come with him - much preferring the prospect of becoming prince again to a now-evil empire rather than returning to his own life - and of course, no one has any issues with Cartman not coming along. And Cartman s Thus concludes Cartman's story arc.

As SPGamers then begin filing into the time travel machine (which can only take one person at a time), Wendy notices a matter-correcting machine. She uses it on Kyle to turn him back into a human, which puts a lot of strain on the power being used. I also had a line planned where the kids are asking why Dave was never turned back into a human (his palm tree format being an advese side effect of the original travel to the year 3000), but it turns out no one else actually gave a shit.

Smoke begins to come from the time machine. They realise the machine will only be able to take a handful more people before it eventually breaks, and when asked by a newly-human Kyle (who has no recollection of anything that's happened since episode 101) whether or not they want to go back, Stan and Wendy - who'd been getting increasingly closer over the course of the episode - say they do, hold hands, exchange a final glance and smile and kiss before entering the machine. Stan, Wendy and Kyle are all transported back to their own time, concluding their arc.

The machine now only has the capacity for one more person to travel through time. Stanster is revealed to still be alive, and claws his way towards the machine, hoping to , trying to repent for his selfish ways, decides to leave it open for Beamer instead (who he assumes is on the way), deciding he deserves it more, and Stanster sits alone in the corner of the now-burning Project F-3 headquarters as the building collapses around him while he bleeds out.

Shortly after, Laura arrives (Stanster is now *definitely* dead by this point) and sees the machine with only one travel left in it, assumes Beamer has already gone through, and decides to travel back to the 21st century herself to be with him - but not before taking a DNA sample from the deceased Stanimation robot for testing purposes. After she goes through the machine, it breaks down accordingly, rendering itself unable to ever be used again.

It is instead revealed that Beamer was heading towards Laura the entire time - finding her new news office empty, along with Wormmaster's penthouse - and later winds up at the Project F-3 headquarters as well. He discovers the ruins of the machine, all the bodies, and finds a note - left there by Laura back in the 21st century. The letter details how much she loves and misses him, but informs Beamer he has a child - as confirmed by the DNA test - who is growing up very happy alongside Beamer's old friends and the South Park kids in the past. Laura has a reporting job where she *doesn't* have to take her clothes off, and the rest of the SPG community has been helping raise their child.

As the tears in Beamer's eyes well up, Anigav emerges at the headquarters, revealing that, as the last SPGer alive, Beamer is now the king, and she wants to be his queen. Beamer picks up the gun that was dropped by RY4 when he was killed, and the screen cuts to black. We hear a gunshot and the credits roll - leaving the viewer forever in question as to whether Beamer killed Anigav or himself.

THE END

OTHER NOTES:
* I don't remember exactly which SPGamers in the supporting cast were going to make it out alive and which would die, sorry. I'm sure it would've been a wild ride regardless.
* There are a few things I forgot to mention in there, such as the fact that Nomad, Polygon, etc. had already been evacuated when the SPG Serial Killer took his first victim, and that I wanted to briefly bring back Mr. Hankey in some form and finally kill him off.
* My other plan for this episode was to keep it at a TEEN rating, avoiding any explicit language/sex/nudity in order to keep the story as the primary focus here (hence why 502 was so jam-packed with it - it was my last hurrah!).
* While trekking through the desert to the headquarters, the kids would also find the severed robot head of Kenny, still left there from the events of season 4 (if I recall correctly, they were unaware he was dead). There'd have been a brief teary goodbye.
* Also, at some point, we'd have also revealed Summer had now found happiness with the *other* escapee from Anigav's dungeon - who settled down with her because she reminded him of a giant rabbit. I'm not sure exactly how I would've worked that one in, but I'd have found a way.
* Lastly, this is the song I would've played during the final scene, if you wanted to see what tone I was going for:

I hope you enjoyed reading my plans. I'm sorry I wasn't able to deliver them in a more fulfilling format, but I just don't have it in me to create any more of this. At any rate, I figured this was better than nothing. Thank you for reading, and goodbye, SPG!
